Awaiting decision West Berkshire 26/01853/TPW

Works: Trees

Still open. Anyone can comment while the consultation period runs, and comments go to the council rather than to us.

Proposal

T1 Oak: Crown reduction - Reducing the height and spread of the tree by up to 2 meters, ensuring that we do not remove more than 30% of the foliage of any given branch and that all cuts are cut back to growth points. The final height and spread of the tree will be 18m from ground level. Crown lift - to provide 4 meters clearance from ground level by removing one lower limb on the north side over neighbouring driveway.

What happens while it is decided

The process from here

This application is with West Berkshire for determination. The council publicises it, consults neighbours and technical bodies where required, and weighs the responses against local and national planning policy.

The statutory target is eight weeks for most applications and thirteen for major development, though extensions of time are common. Comments carry most weight while the case is undecided, so check the council portal for the deadline if you want to respond.

About this record

Reading the register

This page mirrors an entry on the statutory planning register that West Berkshire is required to keep. The published feed for this record does not state which type of application it is, which is common for older entries and for some council systems; the register entry on the council portal will say, alongside the case officer and any consultation dates.

Every planning application follows the same broad path: submission, validation, publicity, then a decision by officers or committee. Our guide to planning application types explains the common types and what each can approve.

The trees are a mix of Beech, Hawthorn, Holly, Norway Maple and oak. We would like to raise the crown to stop damage to the trees from vehicles. The trees are labelled T1-15 on the arboricultural plans over the main carpark and not numbered for the northern end of the site. We are looking at raising the crown for the trees along the road side of the site (east) to no more than 3.5 meters above ground level. We will not be felling any trees. Over the last 10 years we have planted over 100 small samplings and hedgerow saplings around the site and continue to plant more every year.
