What happens while it is decided
The process from here
This application is with West Berkshire for determination. The council publicises it, consults neighbours and technical bodies where required, and weighs the responses against local and national planning policy.
The statutory target is eight weeks for most applications and thirteen for major development, though extensions of time are common. Comments carry most weight while the case is undecided, so check the council portal for the deadline if you want to respond.
About householder applications
How this application type works
Householder applications cover work to an existing house and its garden: extensions, loft and garage conversions, porches, outbuildings and similar alterations within the boundary of the home. They cannot be used to create a separate dwelling or change what the building is used for. Councils aim to decide them within eight weeks, and immediate neighbours are usually notified and given a chance to comment.

This application is to be read in conjunction with our application for a new build house which is to be located on the backland site behind 100 High Street. In order to achieve the necessary width we have been asked by the traffic engineer to remove a single brick pier at the front entry to the site and a brick pier under the covered archway. This listed building consent follows a previous approved listed building consent for the same work which was granted in 2016 (along with the approved application for the new dwelling to the rear) which has since elapsed.
