What happens while it is decided

The process from here

This application is with Wandsworth for determination. The council publicises it, consults neighbours and technical bodies where required, and weighs the responses against local and national planning policy.

The statutory target is eight weeks for most applications and thirteen for major development, though extensions of time are common. Comments carry most weight while the case is undecided, so check the council portal for the deadline if you want to respond.

About trees applications

How this application type works

Tree applications cover work to protected trees: those under a tree preservation order need consent for pruning or felling, and trees in a conservation area need six weeks written notice before work starts. The council assesses the amenity value of the tree and can refuse consent, approve it with conditions, or in conservation areas make a preservation order in response.

01 - Cedar - Reduce the laterals on the south, south east and south west by 4m, reduce the north facing laterals over the grass area by 3m, Reduce the height by 1.5m on the side of the tree towards the building at the point of the recent limb failure. 01 - The tree in question has suffered multiple limb failures in the past and has been left with elongated laterals throughout the crown that are susceptible to failure in high winds. The proposed work would reduce the risk of limb failure in the future whilst retaining a balanced crown.

x1 Laurus Nobilis (Bay): Fell to ground level the larger stem to the right hand side and shape round the remaining stem form a much smaller and more manageable size tree. The proposed works form part of routine garden tree management. The Bay has become overgrown for its confined location, with the larger stem leaning onto the boundary fence and contributing to pressure on the structure. Removal of the larger leaning stem will alleviate this pressure, reduce the overall size of the tree and improve its long-term management. The remaining stem will be sympathetically reshaped to create a smaller, balanced and more appropriate specimen for the size of the garden, whilst retaining its amenity value. All works will be carried out in accordance with BS3998:2010 ??? Tree Work ??? Recommendations.
