Works: Trees Domestic
Read from the description, not a valuation. How we read the register
Permission granted. Work must normally begin within three years of the decision or the permission lapses.
Proposal
2x conifers to be reduced to ground level and stump ground out. Both in conservation area - neither covered by a specific TPO. One in bed to southeastern corner of dwelling. Roughly 9 metres high and located 3 metres from the house. Similar distance from neighbour's house. The proximity of the tree to the house is concerning due to inevitable spread of the roots near the foundations of either property. The area is fairly sheltered and it is our desire to plant shrubs and shade-loving plants in that area. Hypericum and crocosmia already grow underneath and would benefit from less nutrient drain on the soil. The other tree is located roughly 12 metres south of the southeastern corner of the house. This is a lighter-coloured conifer/fir, a similar height to the other, but fuller in width, except one side, where hazel and privet have been grown. The conifer dominates a flowerbed, to the extent that an otherwise lovely Pieris and an Escallion (both flowering) are forced to grow a long way sideways to get any light. With this bed, we are looking to remove the tree to give the other shrubs and trees more light and room to grow, so all would fil lin well. We would also like to plant a Magnolia further back in the bed. There is currently no point with the conifer there as it would get no light or nutrients and would not be seen by the house.

Ash - rear garden - approx 15 tall. Approx 12 m diameter spread at the Crown. Work required is to reduce the Crown. Reasons - To manage size and allow more light to the gardens. Crown overhangs three separate Gardens. All neighbours are in agreement and will be funding the work jointly.

We have a large silver birch in our front garden subject to a TPO. It is quite close to the house. We would like to trim it as (1) It overhangs the pavement in front of the house (2) It is very tall so blocks light to our solar panels. Approx 2m trim/reduction.

TPO760 T50 Mature oak tree has died. We request permission to remove all branches to just leave the main trunk. Over recent years the tree has been progressively later to come into leaf and earlier to lose its' leaves than the adjacent mature oak. This year the tree has not produced any leaves at all. A local tree surgeon, Tom from T's Trees has inspected the tree and does not believe the tree trunk to be hollow. Photo2 shows damage around the trunk, which may be related to the tree's death. This damage was there when the current owners moved in.
