Planning application

Firs Lodge Troutstream Way Loudwater Rickmansworth Hertfordshire WD3 4LE

Granted Three Rivers 22/0545/TCA Works to trees in a conservation area

Works: Trees

Permission granted. Work must normally begin within three years of the decision or the permission lapses.

Proposal

T1 - Beech Homeowner is concerned about the trees lean into the neighbouring property. The tree was previously reduced approximately a year ago to reduce the weight. The homeowner is still unhappy with the movement in the canopy. I have recommended a 10-15% thin of the canopy to reduce wind loading.

T1 - Beech - Approximately 10m tall - Tree has a considerable lean and the customer is concerned about potential failure from the base. The tree has a considerable lean towards the neighbours garden so the customer wants to be sure the tree is safe. I have recommended a reduction to reduce canopy weight. From the neighbours side I will reduce up to 2 metres from the height and up to 3m from lateral branches if suitable. T2 - Eucalyptus - Approx 8 metres tall - The tree has a codominant stem from the base with 2 main leaders. I have recommended removal of the leaning stem on the left aswell as a reduction of the remainder of the canopy (approx 1.5 - 2 m) to prevent failure from the included bark.

TPO760 T50 Mature oak tree has died. We request permission to remove all branches to just leave the main trunk. Over recent years the tree has been progressively later to come into leaf and earlier to lose its' leaves than the adjacent mature oak. This year the tree has not produced any leaves at all. A local tree surgeon, Tom from T's Trees has inspected the tree and does not believe the tree trunk to be hollow. Photo2 shows damage around the trunk, which may be related to the tree's death. This damage was there when the current owners moved in.
