Proposal
G1 - x 3 Leyland Cypress (X cupressoncyparis leylandii) - Rear garden Rear boundary Approx Height - 16-17m Work required- reduce height down to approximately 5 - 5.5m to height of the adjacent tall shrub ensuring all major branches are removed to basically leave 3 standing stems with in or growth (client aware this is very severe and the is a high chance that the trees will not recover, client happy to leave them for screening). This does not include removal of the already fallen stem (client discussed this is not required as they have someone else doing it) Reason - as per clients wishes, client worried about the height/size of the trees giving the multiple targets under the trees (mainly public tennis courts) and the recent storm damage which caused a large part of one of the trees to fail which has now left a sizeable wound on the main stem which is acceptable to decay compromising the trees integrity

What a grant of permission means
The process from here
Permission has been granted, usually subject to conditions listed on the decision notice, some of which must be discharged before work starts. The decision notice on the council portal sets out exactly what was approved.
Work must normally begin within three years of the decision or the permission lapses. Neighbours cannot appeal a grant; challenging one means judicial review of how the decision was made, within tight time limits.
About trees applications
How this application type works
Tree applications cover work to protected trees: those under a tree preservation order need consent for pruning or felling, and trees in a conservation area need six weeks written notice before work starts. The council assesses the amenity value of the tree and can refuse consent, approve it with conditions, or in conservation areas make a preservation order in response.
