Proposal

T1: 7 Beech trees: Reduce the longest overhanging lateral branches by up to 4 metres across seven trees situated along approximately 34 metres of the woodland edge, adjacent to the carport and vehicle parking area. The reduction should be progressively tapered, decreasing to no reduction where branches become naturally shorter higher within the crowns, to maintain an appropriate and balanced canopy profile. The reduction measurement will be reducing a canopy width overhang from 10 metres to 6 metres. The trees are growing along the woodland edge and have developed extended lateral branches towards available light, resulting in particularly long and heavily extended limbs in places. The client has previously experienced significant canopy failures associated with squirrel damage and the loading of these extended branches, resulting in damage to a vehicle and external structures. The proposed works are intended to reduce end-weight and the likelihood of further branch or canopy failure over the parking area.
