I am seeking permission for appropriate pruning works to address the issues it is currently causing. The tree ( a Copper Beach) is situated in my neighbour's garden at 6 Church Avenue, to the rear of the property adjoining Hollinhurst Avenue. It has become significantly overgrown, with branches extending over the full width of my garage and now approaching the garage roof, creating a risk of damage. The tree also restricts headroom clearance at the gate providing access to my property from Hollinhurst Avenue, making access increasingly difficult. In addition, the canopy has expanded to the extent that it is now encroaching towards the opposite side of the road, raising concerns about its continued growth and the weight of the overhanging branches. I am therefore seeking permission to appoint a qualified arborist to carry out sympathetic pruning to reduce the tree to an appropriate size. The proposed works would maintain safe access to my property, help prevent damage to my garage roof, and reduce the extent of the tree's encroachment over the highway, while preserving the tree's overall health and amenity value.
