What refusal means

The process from here

The council refused this application for the reasons set out on the decision notice, which the council portal holds in full. Only the applicant can appeal a refusal; the time limit runs from the decision date and is shorter for householder schemes.

Refusal does not prevent a fresh attempt. Applicants often address the reasons for refusal and resubmit, so a refused scheme is not necessarily the end of proposals for the site.

About amendments applications

How this application type works

An amendment application changes a permission that already exists. Non-material amendments cover small adjustments with no wider effect, while minor material amendments, usually made by varying a condition, allow modest design changes without a fresh application. Anything beyond that needs a new permission, so the scope here is deliberately narrow.

Poplar tree marked in red on attached plan. Our land is edged in red. The poplar tree has three main branches emerging from the main trunk at a height of 5 metres. The 3 main branches are over 50 metres in length/height. The point where the 3 main branches emerge collects water/leaf litter and is at risk of rot. Due to the great height of the tree, Dave Cottrell (tree surgeon) has advised reducing the height of the 3 branches in question by 1/3 in order to put less stress on the junction point. T1 Beech Spec: S1 The councils consents to the prposed tree works set out in Mrs Sandall's application for tree ...
