Planning application

Satis House Church Lane Rotherfield Peppard Henley-on-Thames RG9 5JU

Decided South Oxfordshire P26/S2063/TCA Works to trees in CA

Works: Trees

Decided. The decision notice on the council portal carries the outcome in full, including any conditions.

Proposal

T1 robinia Proposed works: Reduce the crown by approximately 3 metres in height and 2.5 metres in lateral spread, whilst retaining a balanced and natural crown form. Remove all deadwood throughout the crown. Reason: Fungal brackets are present at the base of the stem, indicating potential decay within the lower stem and root buttress area. The proposed crown reduction is intended to lessen the mechanical loading on the tree and reduce the risk of failure, while retaining the tree's amenity value. Deadwood removal is also proposed as part of good arboricultural management and to mitigate the risk of falling branches.

G1 - 12 large Conifer trees G2 - 10 Conifers T1 - Yew T2 & T3 - Yew Line of 12 large Conifer trees along boundary of Satis House (G1) - removal of conifers. Primary school adjacent to Satis House has complained about the size of the conifers, and have expressed concerns as the trees are overhanging the frequently used playground. The school are concerned that the trees will push over the wall between the school and Satis House. The trees also cause excessive shading and prevent light into site. The school have involved a surveyor who has recommended the removal of the conifers. Remaining 10 Conifers (G2) - reduce remaining conifers by one third. Yew tree (T1) - removal of Yew tree. Two conifers in middle of rear garden (T2 & T3) - reduce conifers by 1/3. Remarks:
