T1 - Cedar of Lebanon T1 - Cedar of Lebanon - suffered substantial crown failures unbalancing the east side of the crown. I have reviewed the condition of this tree in light of the past information from our survey and the recent structural failures and I am now concerned that it presents a risk to persons and property. The tree stands within the Elms, a residential dwelling currently occupied by a tenant with free access beneath and around the tree. By virtue of its height and position the cedar could potentially affect both the landscaped area at the south east corner of the house and possibly the corner of the house albeit I think the lean is likely to prevent the house being struck (hence target score) but the surrounding garden of The Elms and land to the south where there is a general increase in activity born of the planning conent are targets with occupancy that demands action is taken. The tree has been a U category specimen for removal since our first assessment but it is situated outside of the application boundary so removal is not enabled by the applicaiton. I have undertaken a Threats risk assessment, the outcome of which requires intervention in advance of the timeframe for a TPO application to fell, so I am duty bound to give SODC 5 working days of the intention to fell.
