T1 - Robinia T3 - Robinia T4 - Mulberry T1 - Robinia - fell to ground level. This is a mature tree over 15m in height with a diameter of 560mm at 1.5m above ground level (breast height). 50% of its base on the west side of the tree is hollow to at lesat 2m. It also has mistletoe growing within its crown - which is a sign of declining vigour and moderate deadwood (typical to species and age). The hollow base is of concern - particularly as it appears to have historically shifted (most likely in high winds) to the west with a lean now towards the neighbouring property. T3 - Robinia - fell twin stemmed tree to ground level. This tree is twin stemmed from base, both leaning to the north. The NE stem has historically fallen and hung itself up in the adjacent Yew tree. It has righted itself and continued to thrive, but it will be putting a lot of pressure on the Yew and will restrict this tree's development. The NW stem overhangs the boundary into the adjacent garden significantly. T4 - Mulberry - this is a lovely old tree showing characteristic decay, hollowing and gnarled form. The stem has a large central decay pocket, with sound wood either side of the hollow. This sound wood continues to support the tree's crown - which appears to be healthy and vigorous. In order to assist stability, thin the crown by up to 20% and crown clean it to remove any deadwood. Reduce back the southern side of the crown to previous pruning points where appropriate. It also would be prudent to consider installing a prop on the SE side. Remarks:

T1 - Walnut tree Walnut tree - T on sketch plan. Crown reduction with hard pruning on left side (if viewing tree with your back towards Sotwell Street). Estimated dimensions of tree post prunig: 6m height; 3m width, trunk is growing at an angle such that there is a risk of falling into driveway. In addition the upper branches are in contact with an electricity cable which may ell be damaged if the tree were to fall. This advice was sought from Steve Ivens of Treemendous Tree Surgery.
