Works: Trees Small domestic

Decided. The decision notice on the council portal carries the outcome in full, including any conditions.
Proposal
Ash tree in front garden to remove sections of major deadwood greater than 60mm in diameter and reduce the limb over the house by 2-2.5m to bring the tips back into line with the main canopy. Weeping Willow in rear garden. The tree has historically lost the co-dominant leader and is now significantly unbalanced. Recommendations are to heavily restructure the remaining top section to bring back into line with the regeneration growth to the south, creating a framework for future regeneration. To remove ivy and lightly reduce the regeneration growth to create a balanced and flowing crown outline. Line of Hornbeams from an outgrown hedge. To remove ivy, clear epicormic growth from the main stems up to approximately 6m. To raise canopies all round to approximately 6m above ground level, pruning back secondary branch structure only. To remove suppressed stem to the east of the fence line to be incorporated into the hedge. To reduce back from the house called 'The Strip' to give approximately 4-5m clearance, no cuts to be larger than 60-65mm in diameter.

T2 Ash - Reduce the height and spread of the tree by up to 1.5 metres, approximately back to the previous pruning points. Reduce the growth extending towards the house and surrounding shrubs by up to 2 metres to provide additional clearance and address the existing crown imbalance. Additionally, crown lift over the garden to provide a minimum clearance of 3 metres above ground level. Ensure a natural, well-balanced crown is retained. Reasons for Works – The tree is located in close proximity to the property and has previously been managed in line with the proposed works. The objective is to maintain the tree at an appropriate size for its location while continuing the established management regime.

P26/S3994/TCA Decided
7 Vicarage Road Henley-on-thames RG9 1HF
There are two trees in the front garden Permission is requested to fell both trees. Tree 1 = Weeping Birch Tree Tree 2 = Maple Tree Weeping Birch (Tree 1) This has become too large for the site, the roots are lifting the paving around it, making it a trip hazard. Roots have also entered the nearby drains, causing problems. Permission is sought to fell the tree, to make safe access to the property and to make space on the driveway for off street parking. (There is a nearby primary school, and parking can be a challenge.) Maple (Tree 2) This tree has also become too big for its location, which is very close to the boundary of No. 5 and No. 7 Vicarage Rd, causing lifting of the paving around it. It is also very close to both houses. Permission is sought to fell this tree.
