T139 Pear tree on the drive. It is mature and has been heavily pruned historically with explosive regeneration growth. Our recommendations would be to re-reduce back to previous pruning points, leaving a framework for future regeneration.

The Coach And Horses, 12 Kinecroft, Wallingford, OX10 0DT

Outgrown and collapsing Goat Willow in rear garden to dismantle in sections to ground level and treat stump to inhibit regeneration. Horse Chestnut at the front of the property. The tree is in decline with low vigour and substantial sections of dead. There is bark necrosis at the base with decay present and the tree is disrupting the fabric of the building with cracking on the outside and distortion of the floor on the inside. Reducing the tree by any meaningful amount would compromise the physiology. Removing sections of dead will open up the canopy I feel and would substantially alter the shape of the tree so it no longer has any character. Our recommendations would be to remove the tree and consider replant, either just slightly further out into the grassed area or further along away from the building.

Pine Tree along driveway, 3rd tree from the entrance gate on the left hand side. Suspect infestation of Boring Beetle. Tree appears to be dying/dead. No foliage cover. To fell tree, and limit the spread of the beetles to other TPO trees in close proximity.

27 Old School Place, Watlington, OX49 5QH

Walnut tree to the rear of No. 27 Old School Place. The tree is early mature and is becoming out of scale with its surroundings. The tree has attained approximately 5-10% of its full growth potential and is not really a practical tree for this situation. Evidence of historic arbitrary pruning to alleviate pressure on the adjacent building. To dismantle the tree in sections to ground level and treat the stump to inhibit regeneration and possibly consider some replanting in the grass spaces nearby.

The Strip, Shepherds Green, RG9 4QW

Ash tree in front garden to remove sections of major deadwood greater than 60mm in diameter and reduce the limb over the house by 2-2.5m to bring the tips back into line with the main canopy. Weeping Willow in rear garden. The tree has historically lost the co-dominant leader and is now significantly unbalanced. Recommendations are to heavily restructure the remaining top section to bring back into line with the regeneration growth to the south, creating a framework for future regeneration. To remove ivy and lightly reduce the regeneration growth to create a balanced and flowing crown outline. Line of Hornbeams from an outgrown hedge. To remove ivy, clear epicormic growth from the main stems up to approximately 6m. To raise canopies all round to approximately 6m above ground level, pruning back secondary branch structure only. To remove suppressed stem to the east of the fence line to be incorporated into the hedge. To reduce back from the house called 'The Strip' to give approximately 4-5m clearance, no cuts to be larger than 60-65mm in diameter.

Sycamore by wall adjacent to Lych Gate to reduce back down to previous pruning points at approximately 4m. Prunus growing immediately adjacent to wall behind Magnolia to fell and treat, including sucker growth growing up in amongst Magnolia. Magnolia to prune sympathetically, reducing by up to 3ft. No pruning cuts to be larger than 25mm in diameter. Yew and Pyracanthos in corner to reduce back down to just below wall height and cut back sides hard to bring back into shape for regular trimming with hedge cutter. Yew to raise canopy over buildings to give approximately 2m clearance. Cherry tree to prune away from building to give approximately 1m clearance and lightly tip back overextended limbs by 1m. Tree on patio to prune away from building to give approximately 1.5m clearance. To raise canopy to approximately 2m, improve light ingress but to retain shading.

T963 Birch to prune and tidy, reducing by approximately 1-1.5m and to remove dead branches. T964 Mature Sycamore Evidence of heavy historic pruning probably some 8-10 years ago. Tree is beginning to dominate this area, heavy reactionary growth at the base from an historically removed stem. To completely restructure the canopy back down to where it was and remove all of the low canopy and basal epicormic at the same time. This would allow much more light into the adjoining properties on the other side of the drainage ditch. T966 Mature Silver Birch to reduce back to previous pruning points. T967 Mature Hawthorn Canopy is touching the adjacent garages. To prune away from the garage to give at least 1m clearance, raise the canopy to give 1m clearance from the shrubs.
