  G2 - Scots Pine (See Picus Test) - A notable historic tree with compromised structural integrity. Carry out resistograph testing to ensure accuracy of Picus test. In addition to the compromised structure at base. Furthermore, buttress tension roots are decayed and considered to be unable to provide necessary tensile strength for stability (girdled roots present, also). Numerous caviites are present; considered progressive, particularly, the cavity at point of origin on heavy sub stem to south west. The tree was condemned in 2006 by previous tree safety audit by another party. The area in and around the tree is classified as of high use and subsequently of a high target. South westerly winds present a scenario of collapse over the building, should such a catastrophic situation occur. Recommendation is subsequently to fell on safety grounds. However we aim to consult with SODC as to consideration of Veteranising the tree. Turkey Oak - (see Picus test). Structural condition beyond safe retention. Proximity to area of continuous use, buildings including extensive gases infrastructure including volatile for laboratory use. Fell and replant with Quercus subra heavy standard. Austrian Pine - (see Picus test). More Resistograph testing required submit report. G5 - Copper Beech (see Picus test). Extensive, dramatic lean to North East. Some basal compromise, however adequate residual wood present to mitigate. Presence of suficient tension roots. Install mulch ring to keep grass cutting machinery away from susceptible surface radial roots (5m diameter). Prune back lateral spread to North East by 2-2.5m keeping pruning wounds below 50mm in diameter. Thin areas of outer canopy by 5%. G6 - Copper Beech with extensive basal decay. However, some adequate adaptive wood present and sufficient buttress formation. Reduce canopy by 2m overall.
