About householder applications

How this application type works

Householder applications cover work to an existing house and its garden: extensions, loft and garage conversions, porches, outbuildings and similar alterations within the boundary of the home. They cannot be used to create a separate dwelling or change what the building is used for. Councils aim to decide them within eight weeks, and immediate neighbours are usually notified and given a chance to comment.

T1 Horse Chestnut - Selective Crown Reduction – Selectively reduce the lateral spread of the tree extending towards the property by up to 2 metres. Reduce the subdominant limb extending towards the parking area by up to 2.5 metres to alleviate loading on the main union. All cuts will be appropriately phased into the remaining crown to maintain a uniform and well-balanced structure. Additionally, remove all major deadwood from the tree (deadwood >25mm in diameter). T2 Ash - Selective Reduction – Selectively reduce the subdominant stem nearest the outbuilding by up to 1.5 metres in lateral spread. All cuts will be appropriately phased into the natural crown line to maintain a uniform and well-balanced canopy. Crown lift by removing the two lowest limbs extending over the roof to achieve a minimum clearance of 4 metres above ground level. Additionally, remove all major deadwood throughout the crown (deadwood >25mm in diameter). Reasons for works: Both trees have previously undergone pruning works and are situated in close proximity to structures. The proposed works are intended to address crown imbalances and any structural defects, while maintaining suitable clearances from the surrounding buildings and allowing the trees and property to coexist in a balanced and sustainable relationship.
