Proposal

The trees T1, T2, T6 and T7 are four Lime Trees planted on the boundary of 1 Holmlea Road. The proposed work is identified by Barrell Tree Consultancy in a report drafted to support planning application P13/S1662/FUL. Please see attached extract. However as I have not yet discharged all pre-commencement conditions, I am using this form to seek authority for this work. Four Lime Trees T1, T2, T6, T7 remove deadweood from canopy (reason - safety) and remove epicormic growth up to 4m above ground level (to avoid shoots becoming dominant and excessively shading the garden). Matt Gulliford visited the site on 27 January 2015 and agreed it makes sense to do this work. G1 The Group comprised of 4 Lime trees Spec: S3 Remove deadwood.     Four mature Lime trees on the boundaries of Clifton, Croft Road and 1 Holmlea Road Goring. The four trees were given an authorised crown lift by a previous owner more than 10 years ago. Since then there has been a certain amount of epicormic growth where branches were removed. This request is for permission to remove the epicormic growths before they become dominant and excessively shade the gardens of the two houses, therefore negating the value of the earlier crown lift. A similar request was authorised in March 2015 reference 91S18-1936. However it only requested removal of growth up to a height of 4m. In hindsight, this was not sufficient. Hence this request is to remove epicormic growth up to the height of the first branch of each lime i.e. T1 to 6m, T2 to 7m, T3 to 7m, T4 to 8m. In the attached photos you will see small, post 2015 growths below 4m, and older stronger growths above.

    Trees had thier crowns lifted in 2007. As a result, epicorminc growth has sprouted. Tree was trimmed in 2009 but has re-grown. This request is to permit the removla of these thin shoots. Reason is to improve shape fo the trees and to prevent excessive shading.
