  T1 Robinia - Fell to ground level. Reasons for works - The tree is located in very close proximity to a garage and greenhouse. This area of the garden has been disused for some years, but the property owner has plans to make the greenhouse a working part of the garden again. The tree has now become unsuitable for its location, as it provides significant shade to the greenhouse below. Due to its location, the options for pruning to provide adequate light below are limited. The property owner has indicated that they are already carrying out replanting in other parts of the garden and are happy to continue doing so to mitigate the loss of the tree. T2 Sycamore - Crown Lift by removing branch tips to provide 4.5 metres clearance above ground level and reduce the low, large limb over the flower bed extending towards the house by up to 2 metres to improve light to the flower bed below.

  T1 & T2 - Horse Chestnut T1 & T2 - Horse Chestnut - remove both trees and replace with 3 x Salix alba var. sericea, large standards. A landscape design scheme has been created that will enhance the amenity of the fields on both sides of the River Thame at this point. The new trees and hedgerow planting will be in clear view from the old roadway and bridge over the river (which is well used by walkers and others). We feel that the Horse Chestnuts are less apprpriate in this floodplain landscape than Willow. They are likely to suffer from the range of foliage diseases and possibly bleeding canker and will be less tolerant to standing in waterlogged ground over winter months than the Willow replacements. Furthermore the Horse Chestnut directly block the view from The Old Vicarage across the river. The new design places the new trees some metres further east and so opens the view form the property. As the new trees and other planting develop there will be a significant gain in terms of amenity and landscape value which will be in plain view from adjacent public right of way.
