Works: Trees
Permission granted. Work must normally begin within three years of the decision or the permission lapses.
Proposal
T1 - Horse Chestnut. Lower canopy overhanging boundary with 17B. Prune back in line with boundary or to previously formed pollard knuckles (subject to tree owner's permission). This is to be carried out to gutter height (see photo 1). Upper canopy overhanging boundary with 17B. Reduce spread as shown in photo 1 & 2. Reasons: To give clearance to no.17B. The tree casts shade and allows roosting birds to foul the patio area and side access. It is evident from the pollard knuckles that this pruning was a regular occurrance in the past. The pruning is minimal and will not affect the trees visual amenity but will make a significant difference to the owners of 17B. T1 Horse-Chestnut Spec: S1 Reduce crown by a maximum of n% and reshape Reason: R1 Sound arboricultural management Reason: R2 To ensure future compatibility with site, surroundings and usage Spec: S19 Please add the following at the end of all the aprroved works: All pruning cuts must be made at bra Reason: R1 Sound arboricultural management Reason: R2 To ensure future compatibility with site, surroundings and usage

T1 - Copper Beech with lesion at face height, facing in to car park, brace 2 main stems as there is an included union, reduce crown by 20% foliar to relieve stress on included union, to reduce co-dominant stem by 1.5-2m equating to canopy spread of 15m. Raise canopy over adjacent house to give 2.5-3m clearance. T2 - Lombardy Poplar t0 remove ivy, reduce by approximately a third, remove any major deadwood over 50mm in diameter and inspect base. T3 - Red Oak with excessive phototropic lean adjacen to Poplar to reduce top by 2m. T4 - Sycamore to clear ivy to allow inspection of base, crown break and cavities. Inspect bracing as it seems quite tight. T5 - Horse Chestnut following the loss of a significant limb we recommend to reduce the over extended sections by 1.5-2m to bring in line with the rest of the crown, lift to 4m and inspect cavities. T14 - London Plane x 2 to remove major deadwood, raise canopy over neighbours garages to give a 3m clearance. T15 - Maple recent poor tree pruning, remove major deadwood, raise canopy this year and in three years time reduce back over extended limb by 2m when canopy on Bowling side has regenerated. G16 - Limes x 8 - 20-25% foliar reduction equating to 1.5-2m from branch tips, clear epicormic growth, remove major dedawood, inspect base.

Also to prune back overhang by 1-1.25m from branch tips to suitable branch unions and reduce over extended sections over entire canopy by 1.5-1.75m to balance crown. G1 1 Beech, 1 Poplar, 1 Oak, 1 Sycamore, 2 Maple Spec: S1 Reduce overhang by 1-1.25m, reduce over-extended branches by 1.5-1.75m Pruning cuts not exceed 50mm. T1- TPO- Horse Chestnut- reduce side away from adjacent property by approx 1m back to previous pruning points. Reduce the remaining canopy by 1.5-2m to balance the crown by thinning out historic regeneration growth from heavy pruning approx 10-15 years ago. raise canopy to approx 4m and remove sections of major deadwood and inspect crown T2- TPO - Lime - Remove basel epicormic to allow inspection of base, remove sections of major deadwood, reduce over extended limbs by approx 1.5m and raise canopy to 3.5m and report findings Purple Maple- Raise canopy to approx 3m , reduce abck from adjacent properties by 1-1.5m and balance crown accordingly reducing overall tree and removing no more than 25-30% of the foliar area. this tree will also require a MEWP to aid reduction and will also need access to the adjacent gardens Plum Trees x 2 - Reduce by 25-30% back from fence and boundary pruning back to give some form of shape to allow future understory , bramble, weeds etc down to ground level around the tennis court Purple Maple- Raise canopy to approx 3.5m over tennis court and neighbouring property, reduce 2 stems on understory leylandii hedge back to height of hedge, remove sections of major deadwood Acer negundo- Reduce tree back from adjacent property by approx 2.5-3m canopy currently touching the roof , remove basel growth and major deadwood Adjacent walnut- to remove sub stem, remove sections of deadwood and remove ivy, remove bulk of historic branch cuttings at base Buddleia - remove to ground level along with smaller laburnum and grind roots

T1 - Beech - The tree has been pruned over a number of years, primarily to remove lower limbs. Simon Holmes carried out a resistograph survery of the stem a year ago and recommended a light reduction. We have subsequently carried out a further light reduction. The tree is a significant one and is in a significant position, explaining why is is the subjecty of a tree preservation order by South Oxfordshire DC. The potential targets are the adjacent houses and occupants, the users of two footpaths, the people and their cars in the parking spaces, and other road users. The PICUS scans show the extent of the cavities and how they are beginning to coalesce. There is a third cavity the same size as the two shown between the upper and lower cavities, which was not scanned because of the size of the trunk at this point. The first scan is 1-1.2m above the main fork. The next two are alos above and the last two bellow the fork It is clear that the main stem of the tree is compromised and that the fungal activity is a long term contributor to the decay. As a responsilbe owner, Mr Bransdon is aware he has a duty of care to the occupants of the house and his neighbours and users of the path and roads and given the fact the tree is diseased and only likely to get worse, he doesn't want to risk damage or injury to himself or others. Mr Bransdon is proposing that a new tree of the same species and of some considrable size, circa 30-40cm girth, be planted in the front garden as a replacement and that the exisitng tree is removed given potential for failure. T8 Copper Beech Spec: S15 Fell tree to ground level. Reason: R1 Sound arboricultural management Reason: R2 To ensure future compatibility with site, surroundings and usage Reason: R3 Limited safe useful life expectancy Reason: R6 structural condition Reason: R7 Close to building, services, road or public highway (delete as appropriate)

T8 - Copper Beech - radial decay as noted in the report prepared by Tree Surveys dated 14.2.14. (A copy of which has already been forwarded to the Council under separate cover) requires a canopy reduction to leave the final crown dimensions: North 10ms East 10ms South 10ms and West 10ms (+1-0.5m) together with a height reduction to 22ms (+1-1m) and the removal of all dead wood greater than 25mm in diameter.

T1 - Copper Beech - Reduce branches by approximately 2 metres focusing mainly on lateral branches rather than the top. Lift canopy to provide statutory clearance over the road and clear from service cables. T2 - Tulip Tree - Reduce by approximately 3 metres to restore balance within the crown due to previous limb failure leaving the tree unbalanced. T3 - Horse Chestnut - Reduce by approximately 3 to 4 metres, leaving a natural flowing crown outline and remove major deadwood. T4 - To fell and remove 1 x Yew tree and install eco plugs to prevent re-growth.

T1 Copper Beech. Low canopy over road and footpath. To raise canopy to statutory clearances, (5.2m over road, 2.5m over footpath). To remove deadwood greater than 60mm over road and footpath, for safety purposes, minimising any chance for larger falling deadwood in windy conditions.

Ash (T2 of TPO 09/2019) - Reduce back crown over single storey block D4 by a maximum of 4m at its widest point (work mainly relates to over extended limbs over roof). Reduce back low branches over the roof to create 3m clearance. Cutback branches from front of the adjacent building (D6) to create 2-3m clearance. To help balance the crown, reduce remaining crown by approx. 2m. To avoid altering the balance of the tree as a whole, the crown of the tree should be reduced in proportion to its original shape. All pruning cuts must be made at branch junctions, leaving sufficient live growth to maintain or enhance crown form.
