Hornbeam x 9 - reduce crown height by approx 2m to significantly reduce the threat of failure and to maximise natural light. I wish to gain council approval to carry out a crown reduction on 9 Hornbeam trees. The trees were planted as a hedge, but have been left to form into mature trees. There are a number of cavities (highlighted in pics) and tight buttresses with included bark evident. They stand around 11 metres with minor deadwood evident, otherwise showing normal vigour. My client considers them to have a high amenity value and wants them managed. By reducing the height of the crowns this will reduce the threat of failure and increase natural light throughout the garden. All cuts will leave sufficient live growth and where necessary target pruned.

FIVE DAY NOTICE Cherry (G1) fell because, due to rcent severe storm damage (a neighbours tree felled in storm, smashing into it and ripped off major limbs). This old Cherry has been further weakened and given its unusual proximity to the house, now threatens the house (safety). Replant another tree in a corner location which poses no long term risks to the house. G1 The group comprising of 2 oak (1 FELLED), 1 beech, 2 cherry (1 FELLED) and 1 walnut Spec: S15 Fell tree to ground level.

T1 - Copper Beech - Reduce branches by approximately 2 metres focusing mainly on lateral branches rather than the top. Lift canopy to provide statutory clearance over the road and clear from service cables. T2 - Tulip Tree - Reduce by approximately 3 metres to restore balance within the crown due to previous limb failure leaving the tree unbalanced. T3 - Horse Chestnut - Reduce by approximately 3 to 4 metres, leaving a natural flowing crown outline and remove major deadwood. T4 - To fell and remove 1 x Yew tree and install eco plugs to prevent re-growth.

Ash (T2 of TPO 09/2019) - Reduce back crown over single storey block D4 by a maximum of 4m at its widest point (work mainly relates to over extended limbs over roof). Reduce back low branches over the roof to create 3m clearance. Cutback branches from front of the adjacent building (D6) to create 2-3m clearance. To help balance the crown, reduce remaining crown by approx. 2m. To avoid altering the balance of the tree as a whole, the crown of the tree should be reduced in proportion to its original shape. All pruning cuts must be made at branch junctions, leaving sufficient live growth to maintain or enhance crown form.
