Proposal
2 x Silver Birch I have been advised by two arboriculturists that the two silver birch trees in my garden are unsafe. If we have high winds or heavy rain, they could come down. One could fall across the greenhouse onto my neighbour's house, the other could land on the boundary wall with The Bull Yard. Also they are several metres from Kings Road Car Park. Separate application from Heritage Tree Services for the same work also received: 2 x Birch - both displaying extensive basal decay, both effectively standing on stilts (surviving buttress roots. Dynamics of movement could allow for "shear crack" failure. Therefore suggest felling above ground level for stag beetle habitat. Replanting species to be advised. Remarks:

28 Vicarage Road Henley-on-thames RG9 1HJ
T1: Birch: Twin stemmed Birch with a crown break a couple of feet above ground level. This tree has had cobra bracing installed and has previously had a crown reduction undertaken due to the applicants concerns over its safety with its close proximity to their own and neighbouring properties and the high volume of pedestrians who walk past the house particularly during the school pick up and drop off timings. The applicant wishes to reduce the height of the tree by 4 metres, to a point just above the previous pruning points and the lateral branches by up to 1 metre. T2, T3 and T4: Birch: Applicant wishes to carry out a 2m crown reduction of all 3 trees. These trees were planted by the applicant on the basis that they would be maintained as small trees owing to the size of space in this area of the garden and the proximity of buildings.

P26/S3994/TCA Decided
7 Vicarage Road Henley-on-thames RG9 1HF
There are two trees in the front garden Permission is requested to fell both trees. Tree 1 = Weeping Birch Tree Tree 2 = Maple Tree Weeping Birch (Tree 1) This has become too large for the site, the roots are lifting the paving around it, making it a trip hazard. Roots have also entered the nearby drains, causing problems. Permission is sought to fell the tree, to make safe access to the property and to make space on the driveway for off street parking. (There is a nearby primary school, and parking can be a challenge.) Maple (Tree 2) This tree has also become too big for its location, which is very close to the boundary of No. 5 and No. 7 Vicarage Rd, causing lifting of the paving around it. It is also very close to both houses. Permission is sought to fell this tree.
