Granted South Cambridgeshire 26/0489/TTCA Works to CA trees

Works: Trees

Permission granted. Work must normally begin within three years of the decision or the permission lapses.

Proposal

T2 - Mature Beech - - Sympathetic crown reduction approx 1.5m, pruning to suitable growth points (BS3998 Compiant) - Crown lift to approx 5m above ground level to improve clearance. - Remove Deadwood (more than 3 inches) Reason - The proposed works are intended to reduce the overall dominance of the tree, improve light levels to the neighbouring property, and mitigate potential risk from deadwood, while retaining the trees veteran characteristics and long-term amenity value. The secondary intention of these works is to reduce sail and wind loading to mitigate further failure and improve livestock safety.

T1 - Larch - This tree has died at the top and the lower branches are in rapid decline. Honey fungus could be the cause as it is present in the garden. It offer little amenity and has poor form. I propose removal to ground level to be replaced with a native tree more resistant to honey fungus

T1 and T2 - Robinia - These trees are growing to large for there location. They are beginning to to cause issue for the Acers and cause excessive shading to the flower beds and summer house below. I propose a 1.5m overall crown reduction to suitable growth points on both trees. This should give the Acers in the middle a bit of room to mature.
