What this refusal means

South Cambridgeshire refused this application for the reasons on the decision notice; only the applicant can appeal, and refused schemes often return in revised form. More in our guide to what happens after a planning decision.

About householder applications

Householder applications cover work to an existing house and its garden, such as extensions, lofts and outbuildings, and cannot create a separate dwelling or change what the building is used for. More in our guide to planning application types.

Conservation Area Tree T1 - Yew tree: This is very close to our building, so much so that branches now touch the house wall and overhang the roof tiles. I would like to raise the crown above the roof height (single storey at this point, approx 4-5 metres to avoid any current and future damage to the building. In addition reduce the lateral of the crown by 2 metres all round and, to ensure the tree remains in proportion, to reduce the height of the crown by 5 metres. These reductions will ensure that the patio doors to the bedroom will no longer be in shade and can open freely.
