18, CRITCHLEY DRIVE, DUNCHURCH, RUGBY, CV22 6PJ
Oak T1 at rear of property.Cut to ground. Over mature tree that has suffered losing large parts of the structure of the crown possibly in the storms of 1987, historical failure and subsequent hard pruning have left large wounds on the main stem of this tree which are now rotting-out and compromising the integrity of its structure. The tree also has a large cavity on the leader to the N.W. at 5m height, (visible from the neighbouring garden,) although a small opening this cavity has been measured at a diameter of 55cm cross section on the leader which has a diameter of 60cm at this point, cavity also extends upward 0.2m and downward 0.6m. The pruning points in the upper crown are rotten and the tree is struggling to support this growth partly due to the inherent weakness in their unions, combined with the poor condition of the matierial present in this area. Tree to be replaced with another to compliment the tree species within this part of the conservation area.

Both secondary leaders have tight unions at base. Prune back crown on South side to give 2m clearance from properties and thin-out these sections by 30-50% as appropriate to alleviate weight stress on poor unions. G3 Conifer and Hollies at rear boundary and Western boundary forming hedge-like screening of properties at rear, reduce height by approx 2.5m, (currently 7m) to retain screening whilst allowing more light to garden. Trees insignificant in context of conservation area.

6A, BILTON LANE, DUNCHURCH, RUGBY, CV22 6PT
T1 Oak at rear of property, lift crown to 6m, crown at varying heights at present, crown covers public highway, (Bilton Lane) and has been damaged by high vehicles, crown also covers the small rear garden and in close proximity to the rear of No.6a, crown lift will also allow more light to the rear aspect and garden. Tree has recently broken-out in lower crown to the East and is overextended from lower to mid-crown, (6m-13m height), I propose to prune the lateral spread of crown from lower crown to mid point starting at 3.5m reduction to the lower lateral crown spread graduated to 1m lateral reduction at 13m height to blend in with remainder of crown.Crown spread is not uniform, tree does not require pruning to the East, current crown spread to West is currently 10m and 9m to North and South. Works purpose is to reduce loading on lateral branches as part of maintenance of tree as a whole including aerial inspection and removal of deadwood.
-
R21/0484 Granted
2, THE ELMS PADDOCK, CLIFTON UPON DUNSMORE, RUGBY, CV23 0TD
Cherry tree (prunus) positioned on the patio is causing stone flags to raise which has created trip hazards. I wish to remove the tree from the patio area completely. A number of trees, including a cherry tree have been planted in the garden over the last ten years and therefore I don't believe the removal of this tree will have a great effect on the area.

Tree has been observed since July 2020 and fruiting bodies of Honey Fungus have been present at the base, tree also has cavities within the main stem.

N.W. side of crown by 2-3m (overextended branches, current spread 8m) from 11-17m height. S.E. side three branches at 10m height by 2.5m, (current spread 7m).
