Planning application

4, SEDLESCOMBE PARK, RUGBY, CV22 6HL

Granted Rugby R21/0816 Works to trees

Works: Trees

Permission granted. Work must normally begin within three years of the decision or the permission lapses.

Proposal

T1 Thuja, cut to ground, tree is in close proximity to building, (3m to East) and is a mature specimen at approx. 25m height. Tree has lean to the East, which is exacerbated by the removal of soil on its Western side to a depth of 0.5m, which has occurred recently in order to build a retaining wall 1.1m from the main stem. This wall is already showing evidence of light cracking directly between the stem and the house even though the wall is less than two years old. It should also be noted that the brickwork under the lower bay window has recently been rebuilt using the same materials as for the retaining wall, shortly before the property was sold. Tree has in the past caused damp issues within the property due to heavily shading-out the front, (Eastern) aspect of the building and is currently contacting the roof and again heavily shading out the front of the property. Applicant would like to re-plant with a suitable species to be decided to reflect the, feel, of the location at the front boundary of the property.
