Planning application

31 Rosecroft Gardens Twickenham TW2 7PT

Granted Richmond upon Thames PA25/3312 Works to Tree/s in Conservation Area

Works: Trees

Permission granted. Work must normally begin within three years of the decision or the permission lapses.

Proposal

Tree: Mature Oak Proposed Works: Crown Reduction: Reduce overall crown by up to 2 metres, focusing on lateral branches overhanging the garden to restore balance and reduce encroachment. Crown Thin: Light selective thinning throughout the crown to reduce density, improve light penetration, and lessen weight on extended limbs. Objective: To address concerns regarding shade and overhang while maintaining the tree’s natural form, structural integrity, and amenity value. 18 m tall with 15 m spread; post-reduction size: 16 m tall with 13 m spread. The works are intended to manage the tree at a suitable size for the garden, improve light levels, and reduce end-weight on lateral branches. The reduction is modest (c.15–20% of canopy) and the tree will remain a key feature. All works will be carried out by qualified arborists to BS3998:2010, pruning back to appropriate growth points and retaining the natural shape. Arisings will be removed from site.
