We are seeking permission for the removal of five Pedunculate Oaks situated within our staff compound. This request is in preparation for the upcoming demolition and subsequent reconstruction of the compound. (While I previously submitted a separate application for these trees, I was advised to include the tree removal request within the staff compound reconstruction application. However, our contractor has requested that the removal be done prior to their involvement.) These particular trees hold limited amenity value in relation to the Golf Course, largely due to their placement within a stand of Oaks and Beech trees forming the perimeter of the staff compound. Consequently, their visual impact on the Golf Course and the entire conservation area is minimal. The existing trees pose an obstruction to the proposed construction process, which demands an unobstructed and clear site. The removal of these trees is crucial to facilitate the smooth execution of the reconstruction project while ensuring the safety of all parties involved. We fully acknowledge the significance of trees and remain dedicated to mitigating the ecological consequences of their removal. We acknowledge that we put this in and had this accepted on 29th august 2023 but never proceeded with the works.

This is a Turkey Oak (Quercus cerris) located on our 3rd tee. We would like to carry out works by reducing the south side of the tree by 3m. We would like to carry out this work as it has overgrown and is in the way of the golfers eyeline when teeing off.
