The proposal is for the complete removal of a mature chestnut tree located in a confined position between an external building wall and a commercial walk-in refrigerator. Due to the restricted location and limited available working space, the tree is proposed to be carefully dismantled and cut down to the lowest practical level, leaving a stump of approximately 0.5 metres above ground level. The removed timber and branches will be processed on site using a professional wood chipper, producing wood chippings for appropriate disposal or reuse. Following removal, the exposed stump/cambium will be treated by a suitably qualified tree surgeon with an appropriate herbicide, applied in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions and all applicable requirements. This treatment is intended to prevent or minimise subsequent regrowth. The proposed works are intended to remove the tree safely while taking account of the close proximity of the adjacent building structure and commercial refrigeration equipment.
