Works: Trees
Still open. Anyone can comment while the consultation period runs, and comments go to the council rather than to us.
Proposal
T1 Sweet Chestnut. Radial crown reduction to include height back to previous pruning points. This will remove 3m of new extension growth. Previous works carried out in 2018. Reasons for work to manage length of new extension growth and allow more light into rear garden.

Reduction of T1 Sweet Chestnut tree situated in the rear of the property. The tree appears to be in general good health with some dead wood around the crown that can be expected of a tree this age. The home owner would like to re-seed the area below the tree to try and get grass to grow and I would apply for a 1.5-2m reduction on all overextended lateral limbs blending the lateral limbs into the upper crown to create a well shaped and balanced crown and thin the crown by 15% to allow more dappled sunlight onto the grass below. All major dead wood will be removed and all work will be compliant with BS3998.

There will be 2x rooflights on the roof plane of the new gable and 2x rooflights on the planes of the existing gable. There will be 2x rooflights within the roof plane of the main dwelling roof. There will be 2x dormers to the rear elevation. Varitaion of Conditions 1 and 3 of 21/02197/HHOLD. Change the appearance of the rear two dormers from a tiled hip appearance to mock tudor gable appearance. This is to allow them to be in keeping with the dormers at the front of the property. They will also then be in keeping with the neighbouring rear property which has the same appearance for their rear loft dormers.
