Proposal
T1 Maple to reduce the overall size of crown by 2 meters back to old prunning points and crown lift to 3 meters. T2 Hornbeam to reduce the overall size of crown by 3 meters back to old pruning points and crown lift to 3 meters. These trees are causing excessive shading and are almost touching the property

What happens while it is decided
The process from here
This application is with Reigate and Banstead for determination. The council publicises it, consults neighbours and technical bodies where required, and weighs the responses against local and national planning policy.
The statutory target is eight weeks for most applications and thirteen for major development, though extensions of time are common. Comments carry most weight while the case is undecided, so check the council portal for the deadline if you want to respond.
About trees applications
How this application type works
Tree applications cover work to protected trees: those under a tree preservation order need consent for pruning or felling, and trees in a conservation area need six weeks written notice before work starts. The council assesses the amenity value of the tree and can refuse consent, approve it with conditions, or in conservation areas make a preservation order in response.

This application is for the reduction of 3 trees in total. T1 and T2 are Silver Birches that would like a 0.5-1m crown reduction on all over extended limbs to create well shaped and balanced crowns.T3 is an Oak tree situated at the front of the property overhanging the driveway and dropping lots of acorns and leaf matter on the cars. We would like to reduce the lateral limbs by 1-1.5m blending in the top of the crown to create well shaped and balanced crown. All work will be carried out in accordance with BS3998.

This application is for the removal of T2 Thuja. We recently applied and was not granted due to other trees being listed in the application, it was mentioned the council would be happy to grant consent for the removal of T2 and plant a new tree in it's place. T2 Thuja is located in the back garden growing over the roof of the garage. It is located behind the fence but still in the customers garden as they installed the fence many years ago infront of the tree. T2 has outgrown it's space with concerns of the root system damaging the garage and pushing against the fence. If the lateral limbs were to be cut away from the garage roof it would leave the tree unsightly and not solve the problem with the root system. The customer would like to replant 2 new trees to provide a privacy screen once removed. We have looked at other options than removing T2 but given the damage caused to the roof and gutters from debris falling we see no option than to ask for removal and replanting. All work will be BS3998 compliant.

Land Adjacent To 150 Fleetwood Close Tadworth Surrey KT20 5PG
Trees 1 and 2 (adjacent 150) prune back from their dwelling/garage by circa 3m and remove deadwood. The branches of both trees are extending across the curtilage of 150 Fleetwood Close. Some are in close proximity to the dwelling. Early pruning work, as requested, will enable the tree crown to be managed without recourse to substantial pruning cuts. Early intervention is therefore considered to be best practice in accordance with BS3998:2010: Tree Works - Recommendations. Tree 3 reduce height to circa 6m above ground level. The tree is in decline and presents no regenerative growth from lower on the branches or stem structure. If regenerative growth had been present it would have been feasible to specify pruning works to suitable growth points. Given the state of decline and absence of suitable pruning points it is considered prudent to remove the major branches but retain the lower stem for its ecological value. Works can be undertaken in accordance with BS3998:2010: Tree Works - Recommendations.

T1 is a oak tree that is on a severe decline and has a high risk of large dead limbs coming off. Remove the tree for safety reasons. I have informed that removal of a tpo'd tree will mean they will have to replant but due to the landscaping around the tree stump removal will not be possible unless you pull up the patio so I would recommend we re plant near the old tree in a more suitable location.
