Our Whitebeam, Sorbus ariatree, that was about 12m tall suddenly died last autumn for no obvious reason. We request to remove the tree. We would prefer not to replace it as we have a short, narrow garden (6m wide) with a large mature cooper beech (+20m) within 3m of our boundary on one side at #54 and 2 ferns (Thujas?) 15m tall within 1-2m of our boundary with #58 on the other side. Once approved we will have the tree removed before winter. Removal is staright forward for a relatively small size tree.

T1 Cabbage Tree - Removal The tree is a 'cabbage tree' or Cordyline australis, a New Zealand native evergreen tree also known as the New Zealand Cabbage Palm or Torbay Palm. I wish to remove it because it is an eyesore. It is not a native species to the UK and is incongruous in the front garden of a grade II listed house and in the setting of the grade I listed St Mary Magdelene’s Church. In addition, the tree appears unwell, with brown leaves rather than green. The base has been choaked with ivy, although this has recently been cut back. The cabbage tree was planted in the late-2000s by the previous owners of the property. Prior to this there is no evidence of any tree in the front garden. See photos on next page. I do not wish to replace the tree, as the front garden is very small and I would be very concerned about the impact of tree roots on the listed property. The courtyard garden to the rear is also very small and planting a replacement tree would therefore not be feasible.

The oak tree is in the garden of 39 Ennerdale Road, Kew, Richmond TW9 3PE It is in the centre of the back garden towards the back - the canopy covers most of the garden. The acorns have a disease which means sharp pricky sticky lumps (unrecognisable as acorns) literally rain down from the tree constantly - I would like to replace it with a number of mature multi stemmed birch trees which will have the same impact on the environment in terms of photosynthesis but will not cause the stress

It is proposed to reduce the three Leyland Cypress (in group G1) by approximately 4-5m in height and by 1-2m in spread. It is also proposed to reduce the crown of Bay T2 by 3-4m. The Leyland Cypress (G1) trees have been cited as causing damage to the neighbouring building. The foundations of the neighbouring building aren't deep enough to be deflecting tree roots; The soil is highly shrinkable clay; Cypress roots were found in the trial pits; and the soil has been desiccated by the tree roots.
