Removal is therefore recommended to eliminate the risk of continued structural movement and prevent further damage to the boundary wall while maintaining public and property safety. Tree T9 ? Common Lime (Tilia ? europaea) Tree T9 is another mature Common Lime that has previously been managed through crown reduction due to its proximity to the property and excessive canopy weight. The tree remains in good physiological condition but has regenerated a large, dense crown, increasing wind loading and mechanical stress on the stem and rooting system. A pollard to approximately 8 metres above ground level is recommended. Lime responds well to pollarding, and this work will significantly reduce sail effect, encourage vigorous regeneration, improve long-term structural stability, and retain the tree as an important landscape feature.
