Awaiting decision Nottingham 26/01728/PWC

Works: Trees

Still open. Anyone can comment while the consultation period runs, and comments go to the council rather than to us.

Proposal

The tree is in our front garden and has grown to such an extent as to almost touch the front of the house. It is blocking light, and is providing a path for vermin to access our attic space (as is currently the case which we have to now deal with separately). We only seek to prune it back to achieve a 2 metre clearance.

The works proposed are to a holly tree located in the garden of Oakfield House, 2b Cyprus Road. The tree is located 9 meters away from Oakfield House. The tree has a 29cm stem diameter, it was originally planted as a bush as part of the original landscaping scheme to the house, this has overgrown into a holly tree. It creates excessive overshading to the garden and it is covered in dead ivy. It is not visible from the streetscene of the conservation area. The tree has a low amenity value. A new holly bush will be planted 0.5 meters to the south by way of a replacement. This will be kept at 1 meter in height to ensure the bush does not mature into a tree as the current holly tree.

Along boundary, there is a yew tree, which has a side branch that has grown outwards onto the pedestrian path. Therefore want to cut back to property boundary. On another section of the boundary, I seek to prune 4 conifer trees to shape and reduce height as able
