Awaiting decision Nottingham 24/01272/PWC Works to trees in Conservation Areas

Works: Trees

Still open. Anyone can comment while the consultation period runs, and comments go to the council rather than to us.

Proposal

I would like permission to reduce the hollys and yews and privet along the top of my clients perimeter wall to a height of 2m, as one dead branch has already fallen out on a car, and they want to prevent further breakages plus any damage to the wall by roots

The works proposed are to a holly tree located in the garden of Oakfield House, 2b Cyprus Road. The tree is located 9 meters away from Oakfield House. The tree has a 29cm stem diameter, it was originally planted as a bush as part of the original landscaping scheme to the house, this has overgrown into a holly tree. It creates excessive overshading to the garden and it is covered in dead ivy. It is not visible from the streetscene of the conservation area. The tree has a low amenity value. A new holly bush will be planted 0.5 meters to the south by way of a replacement. This will be kept at 1 meter in height to ensure the bush does not mature into a tree as the current holly tree.
