Remove to the ground one horse chestnut tree Reason for the removal Our arborist is concerned as to the safety of the tree, it has a large hole in the trunk, last year large branches fell down onto the footpath which could have caused danger to people walking by. The leaves turn brown and drop early this is caused by Horse Chestnut Leaf Miner. The larvae of the moth Cameraria ohridella burrows within the leaf of the tree and cause it to brown and shrivel early in the year. There have been no conkers on the tree for the past six years. Due to the many trees in our garden we are unable to separate the deceased horse chestnut leaves from the healthy leaves from the other trees.

Tree number 1: - Tree thinning: to ensure the optimal health and growth of the tree. Through selective removal of branches and stems from the inner side (garden), we improve sunlight penetration and air circulation, reducing the risk of disease and enhancing the overall vitality of the tree. - reducing the top of the crown to the similar height as the tree next to it. Reducing the crown can mitigate any dangers that can result from an oversized tree. Tree number 2: - removing lower branches to increase the clearance between the ground and the crown. - reducing the top of the crown to the similar height as the tree next to it. Reducing the crown can mitigate any dangers that can result from an oversized tree.
