Works: Trees

Still open. Anyone can comment while the consultation period runs, and comments go to the council rather than to us.

Proposal

Holly (T1) - Sectionally dismantle down to ground level. Tree is dead. Risk of failure across footpath in care home grounds and also over public footpath on main road and causing injury/damage. High target area. Yew (T2) - Remove snapped limb on southern aspect Snapped limb with hazard beam in lower crown on southern aspect. Risk of failure and causing injury/damage. Birch (T3) - Crown reduce by 1.5 metres in height and spread on all aspects, leaving a finished height of 8 metres and spread on all aspects of 3 metres. Crown lift over public footpath up to 2.4 metres above footpath. Pruning cuts to be made back to suitable branch junctions, not exceeding 1/3 of the parent branch diameter Crown is heavily encroaching on building, care home signage, public footpath and road. Works will ensure that crown is maintained at a suitable size for location. Cedar (T6) - Prune back on northern aspect by 2 metres, leaving a finished spread on northern aspect of 8 metres. Pruning cuts to be made back to suitable branch junctions, not exceeding 1/3 of the parent branch diameter. Remove dead wood over 50mm diameter throughout crown. Inspect old topping points, where tree has historically been reduced in height. Crown is heavily encroaching on care home building. Over-extended limbs over building, which are prone to failure in high winds, due to exposed location. Dead wood at risk of failure and causing injury to users of the site and neighbouring property. Vertical regrowth from old topping points is substantial, thus all old pruning points require inspection, to ascertain if the unions are weak and at risk of failure. High target area. Willow (T13) - Crown reduce by 2 metres in height and spread on all aspects, leaving a finished height of 7 metres and spread on all aspects of 3 metres. Pruning cuts to be made back to suitable branch junctions, not exceeding 1/3 of the parent branch diameter. Multiple wounds on main stems caused by squirrel damage. Limbs at risk of failing...
