Decided North East Lincolnshire DM/0443/26/TCA Trees

Works: Trees

Decided. The decision notice on the council portal carries the outcome in full, including any conditions.

Proposal

Ash tree front garden: Fell Reason: A qualified tree surgeon has advised that the tree is suffering from ash dieback disease. The tree is very large and its roots are causing significant damage to the surrounding area. The roots have lifted my mother's driveway as well as the driveways of both neighbouring properties, creating substantial raised surfaces that present a serious trip hazard. We are extremely concerned that the condition of the tree may worsen and that it could fail, causing injury to members of the public or significant damage to nearby properties.

T1 Sycamore: Fell to ground level. Reasons: The tree displays symptoms of sooty bark disease, including areas of bark deterioration and visible bark staining/sooty material associated with affective sections of the stem. The Prescence of this disease can contribute to progressive decline and deterioration of the trees structural condition. Additionally, fungal fruiting bodies consistent with 'dead mans fingers' have been observed in the vicinity of the base of tree. Their presence may indicate fungal activity associated with decaying woody material and warrants consideration when assessing the condition of the root collar and lower stem. Replant with a Prunus Avium of an appropriate nursery grown size to coincide with other within the garden.
