Abergavenny Museum And Castle Castle Street Abergavenny Monmouthshire NP7 5EE
Permission granted. Work must normally begin within five years of the decision or the permission lapses.
Proposal
An amendment to the existing outer castle wall (also the boundary wall) is proposed to accommodate a second exit from the grounds of Abergavenny Castle. Amendments are to include a new gap in the wall, new gates in filling the gap, small areas of flagstone surfacing to accommodate foot traffic, a raised level paved area outside the wall leading to 4 steps in one direction and a ramp in the other direction, to transition between existing level-differences inside to outside the castle grounds. No works are proposed above the height of the existing wall.
