Planning application

Llainfadyn Itton Road Itton Chepstow Monmouthshire NP16 6BZ

Granted Monmouthshire DM/2021/01350 Trees with a TPO

Works: Trees

Permission granted. Work must normally begin within five years of the decision or the permission lapses.

Proposal

These works are supported by a consultants report, this report contains a plan of the trees (attached). The TPO number is unknown to me but some of the trees may be in an Area order (A5) and others a Group (G73). T1 Beech - Reduce the end of the limb at 3.5m South-West by 2-3m in length. Justification: Reduce risk of branch failure. T2 Sycamore - Fell to near ground level Justification: Remove risk of tree failure due to structural condition (see attached report). Owner intends to replace this tree with a beech or oak. Note: Wasp nest in base, photographs at end of report. T3 Beech - Reduce the height of both stems by 3-5m. Justification: Reduce risk of tree failure T5 Beech - Reduce the height of the tree by 2-4m and reshape remaining canopy to include the reduction of over extended limbs (approx. 2-3m in length removed). Justification: Reduce risk of stem and branch failure. T10 Oak - Prune epicormic growths on lower stem clear of the highway (note deadwood will also be stabilised) T15 Oak - Reduce the end of the limb at 7m West by 3-4m in length. Justification: Reduce risk of branch failure (tree located in field, not owned by applicant). T16 Oak - . Reduce the height and lateral spread of the Westerly stem by 2-3m. Justification: Subordinate stem to encourage more uniform growth and prevent nuisance to buildings (tree located in field, not owned by applicant).
