23/00087/LBC

Dulce Domum 14 Burrough End Great Dalby Leicestershire LE14 2EW

Granted Melton Listed Building Consent

Proposal

To replace six windows - five on front elevation and one on the rear elevation due to rotting timber and general wear and tear. Windows will be replaced with Acoya high performance soft wood frames and will be exact replica of the existing windows. The glazing will be upgraded to 12mm Heritage Clarity individual double glazed units with a U value of 2.17. 2 windows on the front elevation and 5 on the rear elevation were replaced with Listed Building Consent in 2015 (Application no. 15/00076/LBC) and 2019 (Application no. 19/00699/LBC).

What a grant of permission means

The process from here

Permission has been granted, usually subject to conditions listed on the decision notice, some of which must be discharged before work starts. The decision notice on the council portal sets out exactly what was approved.

Work must normally begin within three years of the decision or the permission lapses. Neighbours cannot appeal a grant; challenging one means judicial review of how the decision was made, within tight time limits.

About heritage and listed buildings applications

How this application type works

Heritage applications concern listed buildings and conservation areas. Listed building consent is needed for works, inside or out, that affect the special interest of a listed building, and carrying out such works without consent is a criminal offence. The council weighs harm to the heritage asset against any public benefit of the proposal.
