ONE Horse Chestnut tree (T5) FELL Ht: 9mONE Oak tree - CROWN REDUCTION by 3m from 12m to 9m (The tree is of a size that would allow for a reduction without reducing the amenity) If we can secure felling of the horse chestnut imminently we can use the summer to continue to monitor any movement and if some persists in the right direction can then implement the oak tree work subject to speaking with the tree owners and LB Lewisham to ensure the communication channel is open and transparent. Mitigation Given the concern of local residents and tree loss we propose to remove the shrubbery behind the small wall adjacent to the footpath and plant 4 x new trees of extra heavy standard or 2 x semi mature trees (species to be agreed) in addition we will install a root deflector running the length of the wall with a return at each end. The provision of sizeable trees (at least 2) will provide an instant amenity value and will also provide a sustainable longevity for the tree scape along St Germans Road. All tree planting will have a three year after care programme. The species to be provided will be programmed for Autumn 2022.
