T1- Silver Birch - Reduce overall height by approximately 15ft (from 45ft to 30ft) and prune lateral to achieve a balanced and natural crown form - To reduce height, minimising the risk of branch failure. The works will improve light penetration to the surrounding area and ensure the tree remains in scale with its setting, while retaining its amenity value and natural form. T2 - Apple Tree - Reduce overall height by approximately 1.5 metres (from 4.5m to 3m) - Prune lateral branches to improve crown structure and shape - To maintain the tree in a healthy and manageable condition, reduce limb weight, and encourage productive fruiting. Works will improve structural integrity and extend the tree?s lifespan while preserving its contribution to the conservation area. G1 - Hedgerow - Reduce height to match adjacent hedgerow on the right-hand side boundary - To maintain a consistent boundary height and improve the visual amenity of the site in keeping with the character of the conservation area. G2 - Hedgerow - Trim and tidy to maintain shape and density - Routine maintenance to promote healthy growth and ensure a neat, well-maintained appearance. T1 Ash: Removal of a substantial primary limb extending in a south-westerly direction, which overhangs a public bridle path and adjacent boundary fences, presenting a potential risk to path users and nearby property. The tree is also exhibiting early signs of ash dieback (Hymenoscyphus fraxineus), which may further compromise its structural integrity over time; therefore, the proposed works are necessary to mitigate risk while retaining the tree where appropriate.

13 Dales Way Guiseley Leeds LS20 8JN
Leylandii hedge - 11 trees - Fell to ground level The hedge is in poor condition due to historic mismanagement and lack of appropriate maintenance. There is extensive internal dieback throughout the hedge, with several trees (approximately 4, potentially more) confirmed dead and others in clear decline. The hedge has become sparse and structurally inconsistent, with significant areas of dead material and reduced screening value. It no longer functions effectively as a healthy or appropriate boundary feature. There is established screening from a neighbouring beech hedge to the rear, meaning removal will not result in a significant loss of privacy or visual amenity. Replacement planting will include three native trees comprising Silver Birch, Sorbus and native Crab Apple. In addition, approximately 40 metres of mixed native hedging has already been established along the site boundaries, with a further mixed native hedge proposed along the line of the removed Leylandii to provide a more sustainable, biodiverse and appropriate long-term boundary treatment.
