Planning application
26/03795/TR
36 Royds Lane Rothwell Leeds LS26 0BH
Proposal
Mature protected deciduous trees situated on the neighbouring property immediately to the rear of 36 Royds Lane (identified on the attached site plan and photographs). Remove all deadwood throughout the crown. Reduce the lateral spread of the crown by up to approximately 4.5 metres (15 feet) where branches overhang the gardens of 36 Royds Lane and the adjoining neighbouring property. Prune back overhanging branches to suitable growth points in accordance with BS3998:2010. We also wish to replace the existing rear boundary fence to improve privacy and security. We are not seeking removal of the trees, only consent to undertake reasonable pruning to reduce the overhang, remove deadwood and allow continued management of our property.

What happens while it is decided
The process from here
This application is with Leeds for determination. The council publicises it, consults neighbours and technical bodies where required, and weighs the responses against local and national planning policy.
The statutory target is eight weeks for most applications and thirteen for major development, though extensions of time are common. Comments carry most weight while the case is undecided, so check the council portal for the deadline if you want to respond.
About trees applications
How this application type works
Tree applications cover work to protected trees: those under a tree preservation order need consent for pruning or felling, and trees in a conservation area need six weeks written notice before work starts. The council assesses the amenity value of the tree and can refuse consent, approve it with conditions, or in conservation areas make a preservation order in response.
