Proposal
T1 over mature Oak - This is an over mature tree with Veteran features including a large canopy at 3m in the main trunk., There is significant defects in some of the major branches. Possibly around 300 yrs old. It has a history of limb drop and has recently had one of the topmost branches break off and take a low larger limb with it. landing across two gardens and damaging a fence. I am applying for the minimum which is to climb and carry out pruning cuts where the limbs have torn to reduce the surface area of the wounds. There is also a large limb to the East which is now very exposed and also damaged from where the dropped limb has detached. Given the age and history of the tree I would like to reduce that limb so it is inline with the rest of the remaining canopy on the eastern side which would a 1.5m reduction. I would also like to reduce the remaining aspects of the tree by 0.75m to reduce the sail and strain on the tree which is clearly in decline.

What a grant of permission means
The process from here
Permission has been granted, usually subject to conditions listed on the decision notice, some of which must be discharged before work starts. The decision notice on the council portal sets out exactly what was approved.
Work must normally begin within three years of the decision or the permission lapses. Neighbours cannot appeal a grant; challenging one means judicial review of how the decision was made, within tight time limits.
About trees applications
How this application type works
Tree applications cover work to protected trees: those under a tree preservation order need consent for pruning or felling, and trees in a conservation area need six weeks written notice before work starts. The council assesses the amenity value of the tree and can refuse consent, approve it with conditions, or in conservation areas make a preservation order in response.

The Poplars Park Road Colton Leeds LS15 9AJ
T1 Poplar - Pollard back to previous points, ensuring all cuts leave sound wood with no rot. T2 Poplar - Same treatment as T1: re-pollard to historic points, removing any decayed material. T3 and T4 Conifer - Remove entirely. Replanting and Site Considerations - Two Silver Birch saplings and one Willow have already been planted. The conifers (T3 and T4) will remain in place temporarily to maintain a natural barrier while the new saplings establish. Removal of conifers will proceed once the young trees are sufficiently established to provide screening.
