Planning application
Peasecroft Wood Great Preston Leeds
Works: Trees
Permission granted. Work must normally begin within three years of the decision or the permission lapses.
Proposal
T1552 Ash - Fell as growing next to footpath T1555 English Elm - Fell, as dead. Biforked close to ground level, tree has failed and is resting in other trees As there are numerous trees surrounding both of the specified trees and there is evidence of self seeding, there are no plans to replant any new trees, which would struggle to flourish. In the Village of Great Preston our In Bloom group have already planted 2 new trees and are planning on planting an oak tree to mark the Coronation.

T1 Ash - To reduce ash tree in rear garden by approx. 20% all round, pruning 2.5m from each side of the crown and approx. 3m from the top. Reason: Tree has drawn form and its continued growth and exposed location on woodland edge, couple with potentially weak union at base could lead to future failure. Tree reduction aims to reduce chance of failure.

T1 - Reduction on the east of the tree (facing the street) of around 1m to remove branches tangled in the internet cables (photo attached). Reduction in other branches will be minor in order to facilitate removal of as much ivy as possible, this will have to be a little vague as the ivy is extensive and taking over large areas of the tree.
