Proposal
Trees protected under TPO 134 1978 Area designation A1. The application proposes the following works: T1 Indian Bean Tree Catalpa bignonioides Remove deadwood greater than 250mm. Reduce low lateral limb by 2m to leave 4m in length. T2 Silver Birch Betula pendula Fell and remove tree. T3 White Mulberry Morus alba Prune back from property to provide 1.5m clearance. Raise limb growing over boundary wall from highway. Thin crown by removing dead broken and crossing branches. T4 Eucalyptus Reduce lateral limbs growing towards property by 3m to leave 8m in length. Thin crown by removing dead damaged and crossing branches. T5 Bay Laurus nobilis Reduce lateral limbs back from garden by 1.5m. T6 Common Lime Tilia x europaea Remove deadwood greater than 300mm. Remove epicormic growth to 4m. T7 Horse Chestnut Aesculus hippocastanum Raise crown over highway to 5.2m. Following review of the deposited TPO plan and site inspection undertaken on 2 March 2026 only T6 Common Lime and T7 Horse Chestnut are confirmed as standing within Area A1 and therefore protected by TPO 134. Council Note: TPO 134 1978 is an Area Order sealed on 30 June 1978 and confirmed on 1 September 1978. Following review of the deposited TPO plan and site inspection the Council confirms that only T6 Common Lime and T7 Horse Chestnut fall within Area A1 and are protected by the TPO. Trees T1 to T5 are not located within Area A1 and are not protected by TPO 134. As the site lies within CA12 Streatham Park Garrads Road Conservation Area those works have been considered under section 211 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990. The Council raises no objection to the notified works to T1 to T5. This decision notice may therefore be taken as confirmation that the Council does not propose to make a Tree Preservation Order in respect of those trees.
