Tree 1 (Ginkgo Biloba) to be felled to ground level. Tree 2 (believed to be an Italian Alder) to be felled to ground level. All work to be carried out by a tree surgeon (likely to be Steven Walker). The reason for felling these trees are as follows: 1. Both trees have grown very large and are now above the roof line 2. The trunk of both trees are only 1m from the building at ground level 3. The fallen leaves from the trees result in blocked gutters and drains which have caused damp issues in the building and require continuous maintenance 4. The trees are severely restricting light entry into the building 5. The roots from the trees, if left unchecked will create a serious impact on the foundations of the building. Should subsidence occur, this would not be covered by our buildings insurance. 6. The branches of both trees are striking the building during stormy weather 7. Replacement slow growing trees or bushes will be planted further away from the building. Our Gardener has won the best church garden award in the past and we anticipate that the removal of these trees will enable us to beautifully landscape the shrubbery further, which will enhance the look to those walking past. Please note for the avoidance of doubt, Bethany Christian Church is a registered charity, with Trustees (contact details provided under tree ownership section) and the application is made on this occasion by the Treasurer - Bethany Christian Church.
