Planning application

Madeira Hall Trinity Road Ventnor Isle Of Wight PO38 1NS

Awaiting decision Isle of Wight 26/00786/TW

Works: Trees

Still open. Anyone can comment while the consultation period runs, and comments go to the council rather than to us.

Proposal

**5 DAY NOTICE** T1: Ash (Fraxinus excelsior) - Failed limb to be processed and removed. The remaining tree is to be removed to ground level. Reason: Had a limb fail which is being held in place by adjacent holm oak on the edge of a slope, above the property and driveway. Main tree has decay, large woodpecker holes (indicating soft wood), large bracket fungi present on the stem which is likely affecting the structural integrity and without action, increases the likelihood of additional failures.

What happens while it is decided

The process from here

This application is with Isle of Wight for determination. The council publicises it, consults neighbours and technical bodies where required, and weighs the responses against local and national planning policy.

The statutory target is eight weeks for most applications and thirteen for major development, though extensions of time are common. Comments carry most weight while the case is undecided, so check the council portal for the deadline if you want to respond.

About this record

Reading the register

This page mirrors an entry on the statutory planning register that Isle of Wight is required to keep. The published feed for this record does not state which type of application it is, which is common for older entries and for some council systems; the register entry on the council portal will say, alongside the case officer and any consultation dates.

Every planning application follows the same broad path: submission, validation, publicity, then a decision by officers or committee. Our guide to planning application types explains the common types and what each can approve.
