Proposal

A&D Sutherland Ltd will be submitting a planning application to form a new quarry 34.6 hectares adjacent to the north east of the existing Spittal Quarry, for the purpose of extracting high grade Caithness flagstone. The existing quarry is now depleted of the supply of commercially usable material remaining. The extraction will be undertaken in phases with on going restoration taking place in the quarried areas as the next phase progresses
