About trees applications
How this application type works
Tree applications cover work to protected trees: those under a tree preservation order need consent for pruning or felling, and trees in a conservation area need six weeks written notice before work starts. The council assesses the amenity value of the tree and can refuse consent, approve it with conditions, or in conservation areas make a preservation order in response.

Oak 9 metres due south of TPO Ref. 027183 and within the Cradley Conservation area. To reduce the branches on the western side to remove overhang of the garden of Penny Cottage.

Oak tree (T1) - Advised reduction pruning to reduce domination of Bulls Head Cottage (adjacent property), and to restore a more balancedcrown. Works to include: removal of two bottom limbs over Bulls Head Cottage; reduction of south, west and east sides by 4m.; reduction of height by 4m. Concerned that the unbalanced shape of the tree could lead to it falling, or shedding heavy limbs causing serious damage to Bulls Head Cottage building and occupants; also a footpath used by members of the public passes directly beneath the tree canopy and thisconstitutes another cause for our concern of safety of others.

Atlas Cedar - the tree is positioned in the area of more recent graves and has a high target occupancy. Due to historic limb failures the trees crown is out of balance with large limbs overextended, reduce the overextended limbs by removing 2-3 metres of growth to a suitable growth point, remove major deadwood and limbs with hazard prone characteristics, thin canopy by approximately 10% to reduce sailarea and minimise risk of future limb loss.
